Second article published
My second article was just published in the May/June issue of Living Aboard magazine. That was fun to see. Another magazine "This Old Boat" has purchased another article, but it won't run until next year. I sent a different article to "Small Craft Adviser", but they sent me a nice rejection letter. Oh well you can't win them all. I sent another to Latitudes and Attitudes, but haven't heard from them yet.

Thoughts
I was doing some reading today and came across the following quote that put into words what I have felt for some time now. Actually, it is what propelled me to the life on Morgan we now live.
"We each must choose our own path through life. Do we follow the course laid out for us by others, or dare we chart our own destiny? Brainwashed by our economic system, we become entombed beneath a pyramid of time payments, mortgages, and preposterous gadgetry and playthings that divert our attention from the sheer idiocy of the charade.
The years thunder by. The dreams of youth grow dim where they lie, caked in dust on the shelves of patience. Before we know it, our tomb is sealed. For years we tuck away small treasures, so that in maturity we can have a few short years to enjoy the fruits of a lifetime of labors. But as the awaited time draws near, too many find that failure of health and mobility averts this dream from reality. Where, then lies the answer? In choice. Be it bankruptcy of purse, or bankruptcy of life? Go now, while still young and healthy enough to enjoy the adventure" http://highseasdrifter.net/

Sometimes
Sometimes life is so funny. Sharon is in Alabama right now and I am on Morgan. I came down for a couple of days to check on her in between work. No really I had to. It was manditory, I didn't want to, it was necesary. Ok, maybe that is a small white lie, but it is easily justifiable. I was loading the car tonight to get ready to leave early in the morning. I had both hands full of things and as I was stepping up to the dock from Morgan I dropped our favorite iron skillet into the water. I checked the depth sounder. It is low tide right now so it is only about 7 feet deep. I put on some trunks and dove in to get it. I got it on the first dive. It is nice that the water here is so clear. I could easily see it. If it had been Kentucky Lake I never would have found it. I know Sharon is shaking her head as she reads this, thinking only my husband. O well, the difference between an adventure and a bad day is attitude.

I DID A BAD THING TODAY
As you know we have been up north working to fatten up the anemic cruising kitty for a month now. The first two weeks in Indiana, and the last two weeks in Alabama working a storm. We are insurance adjusters (please don't hold that against me) and have been working the tornadoes that hit Alabama. I finished my last claim today, and have a couple of days before our next deployment so I wanted to get down to Morgan and Rosie to check on them. I have been worried about them as it has now been a month since I have seen them. This is where the bad thing comes in, now that I am here I do not want to leave. Five minutes on Morgan and it is as if I never left. I found her happily tied to the dock. I was worried that she might have mold growing in her or worse. She was in great shape. Her bilge was dry as a bone, even had cob webs in there. Sharon had left a plant on the table, and even it was fine, a little thirsty though. I am amazed how well she was. Oh God I don't want to leave!
I will leave either tomorrow or early Tuesday morning to go back to work. I keep telling myself NO PAIN NO GAIN. We plan on sailing to the Bahamas in December or January, and to the US Virgin islands by March. It is going to take some work to be ready financially, but we can do it. Well that's it for now, I just want to enjoy being here.
